County Attorney's Office

The County Attorney is elected by the residents of Anoka County. The current County Attorney is Robert M. A. Johnson. Some of the duties of this office are to represent the people in the following areas:

  • Prosecution of all felonies which occur in Anoka County. (763-323-5586)
     
  • Prosecution of all juvenile matters which arise in Anoka County. (763-323-5586)
     
  • Establishment of paternities, civil commitments, child support enforcement, daycare and foster care licensing, and certain guardianships. (763-323-5550)
     
  • Investigation of public assistance fraud, election law violations, and certain white-collar crimes. (763-323-5586)
     
  • Legal representation of Anoka County, its departments, and in land acquisition, employment issues, liability claims, county ordinances, contract negotiations, appeals, expungements, and other civil matters involving Anoka County. (763-323-5550)
     
  • Support and assistance for victims and witnesses in criminal and juvenile proceedings handled by the County Attorney’s Office. (763-323-5559)
